Public Decency Code Went Live In Saudi And Fines Were Imposed💸

Saudi Police officials started monitoring offenses and imposing fines as per the violations list of the Public Decency Code approved by the prime ministers’ council in May 2019.

According to sources, police officials started to issue violations report, after specifying its type and getting the offender data, then record the violation through the offender’s civil register number.

The fines of violations are increasing in the case of repetition up to SR 6,000.

The list of violations to avoid including, Indecent behavior, playing music in high volume inside a residential area, playing music during prayer times, and non-removal of pet excrement by the owner, littering in non-designated areas and spitting, occupying the seats and facilities designated for the elderly and the disabled.

Also, bypassing barriers to access public places, wearing improper clothing in public places, wearing in public places clothing that bears profane language or obscene images or symbols, and writing or drawing, or any other similar act, without authorization on public vehicles and public walls.

Besides, placing commercial labels and distributing flyers in public places, igniting fires in non-designated areas, skipping waiting lines in public places, exposing people in public places to harmful lightings, such as laser beams, and Taking pictures or videos of people, traffic accidents, crimes or other incidents without permission.
