Pope Francis, the head of the Catholic Church, is currently in the UAE for his first ever visit to the Arab world.
He performed a mass to a packed stadium that was attended by over 135k people
The visit marks the region’s strong stance in religious tolerance and co-existence.
According to Arab News, a future papal visit may include Saudi Arabia as well as Northern Arabia as it is home to many Catholics.
Earlier in 2018, a high-ranking official of the Vatican, Cardinal Jean-Louis Pierre Tauran, who is also the President of the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue in the Vatican State, visited Saudi Arabia.
This was the first ever visit by a Vatican delegate to the Kingdom.
