Instagram is much loved across the Middle East and in return for this love Instagram has come up with a Ramadan themed camera effect.
Instagram MENA has launched a campaign called the #MonthOfGood that calls all to come to celebrate and spread the goodness that is associated with the month. Part of this campaign is the camera effect called “Lantern.”
According to online portal ITP, the effect features arabesque designs with delicate bokeh and crescent shapes.
There were about 15 million posts about Ramadan last year on the platform.
This is per official stats released by Instagram.
Instagram has also reported that in Muslim countries usage of words associated with goodness also increased during the month. For example, in the UAE words like “donate” or “donation” increased by 97% during last Ramadan.
