A Group Of Saudi Women Have Started A Project To Help Syrian Refugees

Two young Saudi women have launched a social business to offer a solutions to help Syrian refugees in Jordan.

The project is a social development enterprise store that sells apparel made by Syrian refugees via instagram

According to Arab News, the two women were trying to work on creating a project that solves the “idleness” problem many living in refugee camps experience.

While the minimum needs, such as shelter, clothing and food, are usually met by relief organizations, there isn’t a lot going on to, essentially, give them the opportunity to “stay busy”

Some of the refugees have been living in this situation for years

Jonnah store not only helps refugees find a way to occupy their time but also, to an extent, improve their financial situations.

Jonnah Store apparel is are made through a collaboration between Saudi designers and Syrian refugees are sold through Instagram.

They hope to launch their website, hire more refugees, collaborate with more designers, and cooperate with more companies in Saudi Arabia and in the world.

The Syria crisis has accelerated more dramatically than any crisis on earth. Syrians continue to be the largest forcibly displaced population in the world, exceeding Afghanistan and Somalia by millions of people.
