A ballistic missile was intercepted in the southern province of Asir last night by Saudi air forces according to Al Arabiya English. It was headed to the city of Khamis Mushait and was launched from inside Yemeni territory.
The city of Khamis Mushait is a commercial hub and has around half a million people living in it.
The Arab League has said on November 19th that since the beginning of the conflict in Yemen 78 ballistic missiles had been fired toward Saudi Arabia from Yemen.
The Saudi-led coalition has asserted the continuation of armed militias in targeting cities with ballistic missiles is the biggest evidence of the continued smuggling of weapons into Yemen.
