Earlier this month it was announced that shops will be allowed to be open 24/7. However, some on social media were spreading fake rumours that shops will also be open during prayer times as well. The authorities have categorically denied it.
Anyway coming to the fees that will be charged, Saudi Gazette has reported that shop owners will have to shell out SAR 100,000 to keep their shops open round the clock.
But this fee won’t be applied to all shops; the fee will be waived for some kind of shops that will be announced at a later stage.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Labour and Social Development will set regulations for those employees what will work beyond regular working hours.
