Traffic was put to a halt and people stayed home when a sandstorm swept the western region of the Kingdom on Monday afternoon, according to Khaleej Times. A video taken in Jeddah shows the empty streets yet huge sandstorms taking over the city. Saudi's General Directorate of Civil Defense announced that these sandstorms completely gave zero visibility in Makkah, Jeddah, Bahra and Al- Jamoum.

Authorities are warning the public to be careful when driving and added that residents in the affected areas should refrain from being around scaffolding, lammposts, umbrellas, trees, billboards and construction sites.
