Saudi has achieved its Guiness World Record this year for the largest display of fireworks ever accomplished around the world.

The record-breaking is a result of the National Day celebrations, in which the Kingdom set off 900,000 fireworks, simultaneously around the Kingdom.

The General Entertainment Authority had set out to achieve the record, as announced days prior to the highly-celebrated 88th National Day.

Saudi beat the Philippines’ record for their 2016 New Year celebrations

Philippines set the record two years ago with 810,904 fireworks but it only lasted one hour due to the rain.
