It's all over the news after The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman held a grand re-launching event for the historical district of Al-Turaif.

The Al-Turaif historic District was the latest addition to Saudi's feat of UNESCO World Heritage Sites when it was added to the list back in 2010.

But what makes Al-Turaif so vital to the Kingdom that it's even undergoing a MAJOR renovation project?

Let these pictures speak for themselves.

Al- Turaif is located in the north-western outskirts of Riyadh

It is one of the world's oldest (and breathtaking) heritage sites

Al-Turaif was also the original home of the ruling Al-Saud family from 1744 to 1818

There's even a photo of a younger King Salman visiting the area

Be sure to check it out after the restorations are complete

Especially if you live in Riyadh.
