It is hard to have missed out on pictures, all over Instagram, of a massive art installation taking place in California’s desert during Coachella season, the last few years.
The art installation is called Desert X and is designed to grab the attention of everyone, including people who aren’t from the art world
And now the contemporary art biennial is heading to Saudi Arabia next year.
Desert X in Saudi Arabia is going to take place in the Al Ula, the historic site in north-western Saudi Arabia.
The Saudi Royal Commission of Al Ula will be funding Desert X Al Ula (which will also serve as the name of the event).
The move comes after Saudi Arabia announced its new tourism visa program, allowing visitors from 49 different countries to travel to Saudi Arabia for non-religious purposes.
