The announcement was like a shot in the arm for the Saudi economy giving it a much-needed stimulus that will spur growth. The expected yearly spending for 2019 has been pegged at a whopping $295 billion. Expect lots of new jobs people.

2. Saudi Finally Makes It To The European Tour Golf Calendar
The sporting calendar for 2019 has kicked off with a bang as the European Tour is coming to Saudi. Running from Jan 31–Feb 3, 2019, four of the world’s top five golfers are slated to tee up in KAEC’s Al Murooj Golf Course.

4. The UK’s Famous Wax Museum Madame Tussauds Will Be Opening Not One But Two Branches
One of their museums will be in Jeddah and the other in Riyadh. Among a host of popular faces, it will also have a wax statue of King Faisal. Madame Tussauds is by far one of the biggest year-round attractions announced this year.
5. A Host Of International Celebs Will Perform In Saudi
The long list includes the likes of Gabriel Iglesias, Dave Chapelle, Trevor Noah, Seth Rogen, Jay Z and DJ Khaled, Mariah Carey and Sean Paul.
6. Apple Will Finally Open Its Own Store
Okay, the exact date hasn’t been confirmed yet but the rumour mill suggests that the long speculated Riyadh store will finally see the light of the day in 2019.
